100 Years of Naval Aviation

In honor of the 100^th Anniversary of Naval Aviation, I was commissioned to create eight short films throughout the year of celebration.

During these interviews, I often felt that I was in the presence of something beautiful & noble. The men & women of Naval Aviation embody the courage, honor, & dedication I aspire to. I received a new-found respect for those who have given themselves to protect my family. After these interviews, the scripts for these films poured out in their finished form within a few hours.

From the beginning of this project, it was my desire to avoid the ground that has been tread in countless documentaries. Rather than focus on what had CHANGED in Naval Aviation’s 100 year history, I wanted to focus on what has remained the SAME. The legacy of Naval Aviation is founded on core values that have never wavered. By concentrating on these core values, these films reveal universal truths about the men & women of Naval Aviation. And the films resonate with aviators of every era, from World War II to modern day.

This film was the opening of the kick-off celebration.

I am proud to have participated in this moment in history.

TSE 2012 – An Inspirational Reversal

Unexpected inspiration is often the most effective. When a message is the opposite of what we anticipate, it grabs our attention.

The Special Event conference is one of the largest annual gatherings of event professionals in the world. For their 2012 Opening General Session in Tampa, I was asked to create a closing piece that would inspire attendees & encourage them to work together as an industry to create solutions. This concept was the perfect fit.

I was blown away by the opportunity to collaborate with my favorite singer/songwriter Sara Groves. Her music has been an inspiration to me for many years.

Her team gave me the freedom to imagine the concept and manage every aspect of the production process.

Our goal was beyond the typical purpose of promoting the artist’s album. Sara is committed to spreading thought-provoking, positive messages, and we wanted this piece to extend that purpose.

It was thrilling to hear Sara’s enthusiasm about the finished production.

Living Wellness University

Living Wellness University is a multimedia, interactive medical community that helps their clients experience healthier living. In our first meeting, I was impressed with the passion Dr. Shilpa Saxena & her staff have for improving people’s lives, rather than simply managing their symptoms with medication. I immediately connected with the story they wanted to tell.

Our approach was to learn from their leadership team what made their approach special & then find a connectible way of communicating it. We filmed interviews with the team and several of their clients to communicate their approach & allow viewers to feel comfortable with the brand. The trick was to bring their touchy-feely passion for healthy living, while still establishing their credibility as medical experts.

This unique balance of care for people & healthcare expertise is their unique selling point and the essence of their core story.

I became so immersed & connected to this story that it significantly changed my families approach to healthcare. And Dr. Saxena is now our family doctor!

A Fashion Story

Fashion designer Faviana recently partnered with wedding personality David Tutera to create a new line of wedding gowns inspired by celebrity red carpet fashions. The line was launched at a fashion show in NYC, and they needed a dynamic opening for the show that would introduce the concept of the line.

The fashion show was designed around a Vintage Hollywood Glam look, so we created a complimentary vibe for this kick-off film.

Hope for Haiti

I have incredible admiration for my friends at The IF Foundation. The foundation is based on the principle of micro-finance, which provides small business loans to groups of individuals in poor countries that traditional banks will not touch. The IF Foundation team members help people refine business plans & develop healthy business models.

By teaching people the skills to provide for their financial future, they are helping to create opportunity in countries like Haiti & Ghana. These efforts are inspiring hope in families that felt trapped by circumstance.

I was priviledged to travel with their team to Haiti on two occasions to capture the work their organization is doing. I was humbled by the spirit of these people and their desire to provide a better future for their families.

This finished film has been an intrical element in The IF Foundation’s fundraising efforts.

A Branding Message with Heart

Event producer Janet Caruso was seeking a memorable & disarming way of sharing her passion for her company, Picture Perfect Parties. She wanted a short film for her website that reflected her company’s spirit without feeling like a sales video.

We proposed this unique concept as a way of helping prospective clients emotionally connect with the company. It also works as a conversation piece, allowing her to have a ‘warm’ initial discussion with new contacts.

Presenting a collection of photos in a multimedia format is often necessary for events, trade shows, or websites. Rather than presenting these images as traditional PowerPoint slides, my motion graphics team can bring photographs to life in three-dimensions, creating an engaging, dynamic presentation.

This type of presentation has endless applications, and is incredibly low-maintenance for my clients.
